Acts 16:22-34
The crowd in Philippi joined in the attack on Paul and Silas, and the magistrates had them stripped and ordered them to be beaten with rods. After inflicting many blows on them, they threw them into prison and instructed the jailer to guard them securely. When he received these instructions, he put them in the innermost cell and secured their feet to a stake.
About midnight, while Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God as the prisoners listened, there was suddenly such a severe earthquake that the foundations of the jail shook; all the doors flew open, and the chains of all were pulled loose. When the jailer woke up and saw the prison doors wide open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, thinking that the prisoners had escaped.
But Paul shouted out in a loud voice, “Do no harm to yourself; we are all here.” He asked for a light and rushed in and, trembling with fear, he fell down before Paul and Silas. Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you and your household will be saved.” So they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to everyone in his house. He took them in at that hour of the night and bathed their wounds; then he and all his family were baptized at once. He brought them up into his house and provided a meal and with his household rejoiced at having come to faith in God.
President's Report
Hello all,
It's been a typical Mississippi month here lately. We have had storms, heat advisories, and then good weather. Where else can you go and get that, all in one day.
We had a little trouble with the repeater as some of you have noticed, but hopefully it is back to its old self. It developed a hmm, but with a quick reset it was back to working.
Covid is on the rise again, but we will try to meet as long as we can. Please... if you are not feeling well, stay home. Let's do our part and keep the transfer rate low.
Just a friendly reminder of the packet net starting on the first Tuesday in August. It will be every Tuesday from 7am to 7pm. Please leave a message on WX5MEI-10 for KB5SZJ with the subject line: Net Check. I will retrieve and give a confirmation message back after
7pm on the BBS.
Don’t forget the first Saturday meeting is on August 7th. See you there

I am happy to report our WX watch / neighborhood group is growing using FRS / MURS radios. My location is 3/4 mile from all 30 members and 14 families. I encourage all hams to organize your neighbors and take advantage of this low power short range free service. We have two firefighters from our local fire department wanting to study for technician class license.
There are so many things that ham radio can inspire, and hams can be an asset to your community. My sources for WX and neighborhood watch are growing. NWS County Fire channel WB5BNV dally update Fldigi 3545.0 local club and 145.410 WX group. Please contact me... I will be glad to help. wb5akr@comcast.net

FROM THE RRI NATIONAL EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS RESPONSE GUIDELINES 2020
As with any organization active in disaster response, it is essential that personnel, equipment, and infrastructure be exercised regularly.
Quote from the "RATPAC" presentation featuring RRI by James Wades, Radio Relay International
"Establishing connectivity is not the same as communicating".
End of quote.
In other words, just checking in does not qualify you as a communicator.
