President's Report

Hello All,

November is here, another year has come and gone. At the meeting this month, I will be taking the applications back up for the class that was offered at the last meeting. If you were not there and would like to be part of the class, please let me know. Also we will be looking into offering some more classes next year. If you would like to teach one of them or just offer to help out with them... this will be the meeting to attend.

The Christmas meeting will be held in December and will be discussed at this meeting as well. Lot's to talk about, be there to be a part of it.

Don't forget the QSO with the Battleship Alabama is coming up and they will operate on a split frequency setup, this will be good training for some of you. QSL cards will be sent out to the lucky ones that make contact, BE APART OF HISTORY by making this contact.

In other news, a new digi will be up soon, as the WX5MEI packet station will be back on soon. Digital traffic instead of voice seems to be the new wave. Sometime in the near future maybe we can have a guest speaker to talk about Digital Traffic and also someone to speak on DMR. These two are very popular ways of communicating.

Everyone, member or non-member is invited to the November and December meetings. Let's fellowship together, see you there.

GE to all: It is the time of year for both the Lauderdale Repeater Group and Meridian Amateur Radio Club to jointly pay for Liability Insurance to cover both groups and repeater sites. This year’s premium is $316.00 for a one year policy. I urge everyone to help pay for this expense. If you use any one of / or both repeaters just remember these do not stay on the air all by themselves. All donations will be greatly appreciated. Dennis NO5C

Quote of the Month

'Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty… I have never in my life envied a human being who led an easy life. I have envied a great many people who led difficult lives and led them well.' - Theodore Roosevelt.
