Results Field Day 2008
If I didn't mess up on the score, somehow the club members racked up 884 total points this year. We could do a lot better with a larger number of participants on the radios. We did have fun this year as we always do. We are on the upward swing of the sunspot cycle so lets get busy and do some projects that will get us a better score next year. Jim/W5ED
Good News
Sometime during the month of July the Mississippi ARRL Membership reached the 1000 mark! This goal has taken a while to achieve as we recovered from Katrina (down to 825). Thanks to all of those clubs and individuals, who have actively recruited new members over the past couple of years. Now lets keep it at 1000!

AA9PW Site
The link below is an outstanding tool you can use when studying for your amateur license. Most sites you go to will allow you to take sample tests of the length and breadth of the FCC questions used in the license class you are attempting to obtain. They are therefore random in nature. There may be other sites out there that will let you do the same thing but of those I have checked only this one was found. http://aa9pw.com/radio/
The AA9PW site allows you to select both random tests and tests for only certain elements that you may be studying or having trouble with. If you are having trouble with the element that deals with safety you can select only that element and all the possible questions that you might be exposed to on the exam will appear so that you can work on only that element/s.
I hope this will be of help to you or someone you know who may be working on getting their license.

Have a great month
