 Bible Verse

Love God and Love your neighbor - “You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you are right in doing so, for that is who I am. So if I, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you ought to wash one another’s feet as well.

I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you too are to love one another.”
John 13:13-14, 34 ( AMP)

President's Report

Hello all. Here we are, it's June and we should be getting prepared for field day.  It's also the start of  hurricane season. We will be discussing both at the meeting this month so make plans on being there. Many of you have expressed interest in the field day event this year, so I hope we have a big turnout. Please see field day notes below.

Also, I see that the ARRL has announced that the problem has been resolved and testing can start back. We need to look at our VE list and see who can help get a test session together.  Lets have a great turnout for the meeting.  See you there .

2022 ARRL Field Day is June 25-26

Meridian Amateur Radio Club currently plans to host a Field Day event at the LEMA office located at 2525 14th Street, Meridian, MS. Tentatively we would like to meet up around 11 am on Saturday. We would like to further discuss this at the meeting on June 4th. Hopefully this will help determine how many plan on participating and operating and how long do we want to operate. Will we have enough participation to operate for the 24 hour period? Would you like to have a pot luck dinner?

U. S. Military (Again) Re-Discovers HF

In an article posted by CQ Newsroom... Newsline reports that HF radio is making a comeback for the U. S. military, which is looking at it as an alternative to its primary satellite and undersea cable systems in the Pacific and Indian Oceans. The Defense Information Systems Agency acknowledges that both satellites and cable systems are vulnerable to accidental or deliberate damage, and the Indo-Pacific Command's relief network has been testing HF single sideband as a backup. HF data communications are on the drawing board as well.
