The Helper of Israel / Isaiah 41:8-10
“But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, you descendants of Abraham my friend,
I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, ‘You are my servant’; I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
President's Report
Hello all,
It's April! This year is flying by and like Malcolm said. " The pollen is in the air and taxes are due." With that being said, I'm proud to say we are one of the few holding meetings in person. The WX5MEI Digi is passing some messages and doing well. We did have an antenna problem but that has been resolved. Several stations have been heard by it as well, and it is running pretty cool. The radio is Motorola and is running about 28 watts. The TNC is made by AEA and looks to be stable so I think we should get several years out of it. I'm working on the patch cable for the W5FQ digi now and hopefully it will be in testing soon.
Please come join us for fellowship and some great food.

The next business meeting will be held at the Western Sizzlin Restaurant located on North Frontage Road on Saturday, April 3rd beginning at 11 A.M. Come join us for some awesome sweet tea, lunch, and fellowship.
We will meet in the back room, so we can space ourselves at least six feet apart. Hope you can join us!
SCARC Announces Return of In-Person Meetings
Received from Michael, N4MKE: OK, fellow amateurs, it has been long enough since we had an in person meeting. Our regular meeting time in April is the 8th. Since April is an even month, it will be Thursday and we go to David's Fish House in Thomasville, Alabama. Unless I hear a lot of negative feedback, I plan to be there. Hope to see you too.
DDCC Zoom™ Presentation -- Strategies for Selecting and Organizing Contest Teams
Save the Date Zoom Announcement
TO: Deep Dixie Contest Club (DDCC) members and special guests—
SAVE THE DATE!! Thursday, April 8, 2021 @ 7:00 PM Central Daylight Time —> 0000z
Did you ever wonder how teams are chosen for contests? Did you wonder if there is a process….or if the team rosters just appear by magic?
Well, the next Zoom Learning Series presentation will answer these—and more—questions.
Our topic will be: Strategies for Selecting and Organizing Contest Teams
In light of the many important contests in which we participate during the year, this should be a particularly pertinent topic.
Our expert speakers will appear in a panel discussion. The highly-experienced panelists represent some of the top contest clubs in North America. So, be sure to mark this date/time on your calendars, then encourage all others in your clubs to join us.
PLEASE feel free to invite all radio enthusiasts to join us for this presentation! Pass the word around. Post it to all your club members!
Date: Thursday, April 8, 2021 (even though the meeting begins on Dec 18, according to Zulu time)
Time: 7:00 PM Central DAYLIGHT Time. That will be 0000z.
Speaker: Panelists from multiple contest clubs
Topic: Strategies for Selecting and Organizing Contest Teams
Description: A panel discussion of the variables used when considering how to arrange team rosters for contests. Special attention will be given to contests such as NAQP, CW Open that allow team competitions, followed by ranked scores based upon the teams. The purpose of this discussion is to help all operators understand what variables are considered by team organizers so that operators can plan to “up their games” for better consideration when teams are developed.
Here is the official invitation that you may use to connect to our Zoom™ meeting room:
