President's Report
Hello all,
I'm sure that most of you have noticed that the repeater is back in operation and have noticed that it is not up to peak efficiency. It is running on the lower antenna only and not at maximum efficiency due to the SWR on the antenna. We are running a tuner in place to help with this until we can get someone up the tower to repair our two antennas. We can use some help with this from our members in the community, you don't have to be a member of the club to do this, but you can donate to keep one of the oldest repeaters in the area on the air.
Our next thing on the list is our Christmas social. We need to start planning for it and getting ready to elect our officers for next year. Come join the meeting and make your nomination for office. Also the meeting for the month of November will be held on the second weekend because of an event being held on the first weekend for a family in need of support.
The packet station at LEMA will be back on as soon as we get some lightning arrestors installed, hopefully when this is finished the system can be left on for continuous operation. Also we are working on having an HF data link in operation as well in the future, this may also be used for Winlink as well later on.
