On August 12, 2016 Larry Clark, WB5AKR, successfully tested his Lauderdale County Backbone Mobile. His mobile van consists of the following equipment.

Yaseu 3200. 65 watts mobile for analog/digital and voice

In the event of the loss of Internet, cell, and land line service his communications plan calls for him to visit 10 selected government and civil entities providing AUXCOMM communication services as needed.
ARES DEC
Dale Hankins, KB5VE, from Hattiesburg has indicated he would like to attend a club meeting as a guest speaker. Dale is the ARES DEC for the Hattiesburg area and is doing great work in the emergency communications field.

The MARC held the August Meeting at 6 P. M. @ IHOP on North Frontage Road in Meridian, MS.

All present spoke on the repeater and what could be done to improve it. We also discussed the field day totals and that all in the area shared the similar troubles. Rick updated us on both his family issues and the weather room at the EOC. Keith McCary (not able to attend) expressed it was nice to see the meetings in the evenings. We may continue this if the numbers pick up.
