Cleo Davis QUITMAN — Services for Cleo “Pete” Davis will be held today at 11 a. m. at Wright’s Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Tony Davis and Joey McGill officiating. Burial will be in Stonewall Cemetery. Mr. Davis, 77, of Stonewall, died Sunday, July 1, 2007, at H. C. Watkins Memorial Hospital in Quitman. He was a member of Stonewall First Baptist Church. He served as an alderman and a fireman for the town of Stonewall. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served in the Korean War. He will be remembered as one who had a great love for his family, his town and his steel guitar. Survivors include his wife of more than 51 years, Oree Davis of Stonewall; sons, Michael Davis of Quitman and Tim Davis and his wife, Regina, of Clarkdale; brothers, Jack Davis of Quitman, Bobby Pritchett and Billy Wayne Pritchett, both of Stonewall; a sister, Missy Smith of Mobile, Ala.; grandchildren, Scott Davis and his wife, Nicole, Kyle Davis, all of Stonewall and Evan Davis of Clarkdale and a great-granddaughter, Madelynn Davis of Stonewall. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram Davis and Frank and Willie Mae Pritchett and a granddaughter, Jina Davis. Pallbearers will be Franklin “Red” Wilkins, Jackie McHenry, Clarence Cranford, Charlie Fagan, Bobby Combest and Gerald Maloney.
